Refugees and borders, Palestine/Israel and the southern border

Yesterday I acted as one of the volonteers translators at the presentation of the collective work presented by Indimedia Straits/Estrecho and some people working here supporting inmigrants passing to Europe.
Nieves Garcia Benito talked about how the Strait is now closely monitored by surveillance devices and the control is imposed on the air, on the water and below the water.
The Israelian architect Eyal Weizman, who wrote the essay "The Politics of Verticality",http://www.netartreview.net/weeklyFeatures/Weizman_English.html,
http://www.opendemocracy.net/debates/article-2-45-801.jsp, analyze the matrix of control (concept coined by the American/Israeli anthropologist Jeff Halper (see interview with him at http://this.is/TheWall) and describe how the state of Israel want control the future Palestine state by controlling its air, its mark and its subterranean level.
The matrix of control imposed by the transnational enterprises, the Nato, the EU and the national states bordering the Strait is the same already existent in the relation between Israeli politics and the Palestine population.
Through a complex network of walls, roads, highways and pipelines the wealth of the regions is pillaged and drained, water, gas and oil make its way to the West and to the North, where the wealth of pauperized regions is used as the fringes inherent to the welfare state.
Warmth and confort generated by the work of the people of the South is consumed eagerly by the people living in the North.
One of the ways to break the matrix of control is generating new rules to deal with the borders and with the wealth.
Only a fair sharing of the wealth and the resources can create the possibility of a world more human and more ecologically viable.
Together with a network of thinkers, artists and activists we want to launch a network to discuss and show possible scenarios to take the issue of the borders and the clashes to all our workfields, the Academy, the Art scene and the Political field.
We call the network "Crusading, Encounters and Non-Encounters".
